Musical Theatre Guild is giving me a nice birthday present with the West Coast premiere of Maury Yeston's DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY on February 9 at 7 PM at their temporary home in Santa Monica at the Moss Theatre. No word if Kevin Earley, an MTG alum, might be back as Death. But hey, a girl can dream! Theatre West will offer the rarely performed Rodgers and Hart show, BY JUPITER as the 4th Annual Staged Reading for the Betty Garrett Musical Workshop. February 8-9 and 15-16. They're using the revised book (Fred Ebb) from 1967, not the 1942 original, which kind of disappoints the historian in me. Laura
