I agree with you, though Boggess' album is a favorite of mine, along with Benanti's. I simply skip the patter on Bogess' album. Her singing is worth doing that, for me.

I find it tough to listen to the patter on most cabaret albums (even though Benanti's patter is excellent, I don't want to hear it every time I listen to the album). That's what you get with such recordings.
