Wicked matinee on Sunday March 2nd?

Posted by: JAllenC3 02:39 pm EST 01/15/14

I can't believe I'm asking this, but due to train schedules I'm actually considering seeing Wicked again for the first time since it first opened. They currently have a 2:00 matinee listed for March 2nd, but Ticketmaster shows no tickets available and the Wicked website lists them all as costing $999. Stubhub does list tickets, but I'm guessing those are listed speculatively since there aren't seat numbers assigned to them.

Does anybody have any info on this? Are they cancelling the performance to allow for the adjustment in their playing schedule the following week? Holding back for a special event?

Not the biggest deal in the world, but I'm curious.

shouldn't you be home to watch the oscars that night?

i guess the east coast start time of 8 allows you the time to get home.

I'm actually going to be hopping the train back home to DC that night so no live Oscars for me, but thanks to the Acela I'll be home in time to catch the tail end and watch any especially twitter worthy moments on DVR.

That being said, I really hope that Bobby Lopez can get his EGOT. I think he deserves it.

frozen score is popular with kids, its going to be hard to beat Bono with the Mandella song (that won the golden globe). I didn't realize he won two Emmys--daytime emmy for Wonder Pets. i guess daytime emmys count toward the EGOT.

Winning the Golden Globe for Best Song ...

isn't always the best harbinger of an Oscar win. As GoldDerby.com points out, since 2000, only 4 out of the 13 Golden Globe winners for Best Song have gone on to repeat at the Academy Awards. Many pundits are still predicting ''Let It Go.''

I've got my fingers crossed that Bobby and Kristen step onstage for their ''Frozen'' anthem at the Dolby Theatre.

I'm with you. I haven't watched the Oscars in years. I love looking at the red carpet photos, and sometimes I put on the last hour. This year for some reason I've seen more nominated performances and films, so I'm a little more interested. But I usually work and check IMDb once in a while.

The Sunday March 2 matinee is a special autism-friendly performance. The entire theatre was bought out by TDF and they have all the tickets. There should be no real 'stubhub' tickets for that date.

That makes sense! Thanks for the info. As a former "manny" for an autistic boy, it warms my heart that TDF is doing this.
