| After getting rave reviews for EQUUS and HOW TO SUCCEED and not even getting nominated for a Tony Award, it surprises me that he is coming back again. Is he not the ONLY actor to originate the lead in a Broadway production of HOW TO SUCCEED and not get a Tony Award --not only that, he didn't even get NOMINATED! Seems to me like Broadway might be considered a hostile work environment. (Even Matthew Broderick get a Tony Award for HOW TO SUCCED. MATTHEW BRODERICK!!! ) | |

| and his competition that year was:Winner Nominees: Alan Campbell (Sunset Boulevard) Mark Jacoby (Show Boat) John McMartin (Show Boat) Radcliff's competition: Winner - Norbert Leo Butz, Catch Me If You Can Nominees: Josh Gad, The Book of Mormon Joshua Henry, The Scottsboro Boys Andrew Rannells, The Book of Mormon Tony Sheldon, Priscilla Queen of the Desert 2011 was a much stronger year in my opinion and all nominees were from new musicals. As much as a i liked SunsetB, it isn't a splashy role and neither are the roles in Showboat. | |

| You make it sound like dozens of people have been nominated for playing Finch. It's kind of sad that you think that the only reason someone might do a play on Broadway is for a Tony nomination and then an award. Radcliffe has proved, both here in and in England, that he is dedicated to doing theater and taking creative risks. So no, I'm not even remotely surprised that he's coming back. It was just a question of when. | |

| Apparently the work is more important than the hope for an award. Sounds pretty mature to me. | |

| That is the way he has always come across to me (through the filter of media, obviously) and I agree with you. I hope to see him in something someday, but I also agree with the other post in hopes of an original stage piece written for him. | |

| "I also agree with the other post in hopes of an original stage piece written for him." He's certainly expressed a wish for that in interviews, and since McDonagh is faithful to the actors who are successful in his works, we can keep our fingers crossed that he's the writer who'll provide him with an original role. | |

| Yes, you are the only one shocked. While others noted the Tony history for HOW TO SUCCEED(and we're talking just three productions), I don't think anyone else expected that Radcliffe was going to take this very seriously. He has demonstrated considerable interest in stage work and Broadway is one of the two leading centers in the world of the English speaking stage. Did you think he was never going to act in the U.S. again--or only in L.A. or elsewhere? | |

| Yeah, because the only reason to bring the show to Broadway is to get a Tony nomination. Surely it's not because he enjoyed his past Broadway experiences and wants to keep working on this play. | |
