Celebrate Super Bowl Week in Harlem with a Mega “Friday Night In Harlem” Saluting Gospel & Swing Jazz at

On Friday, January 31st, a part of the Super Bowl celebration, “FRIDAY NIGHT IN HARLEM”, a mega-concert that will pay Tribute to Jazz Legend “Duke” Ellington with featured performances by the Manhattan School of Music Swing Jazz Orchestra, special guest performances by NEA JAZZ MASTERS: CECIL BRIDGEWATER and ARTURO O’FARRILL. Plus an All-Star Band led by extraordinary contemporary Jazz musicians Alex Bugnon, Victor Bailey, Lenny White and award winning vocalist Regina Belle.
There will also be two special performances, by the Mass Choir of First Corinthians Baptist Church who will be joined by legendary singer/songwriter Valerie Simpson of Ashford & Simpson who will also receive the First Whitney Houston “Living Legend Award”. The second special performance will be from emerging Master Pianist Johnathan Baptiste, who will also be presented with the Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong Legacy Award.
The evening will also include Black History Month award presentations to iconic sports figures and other selected public, business and entertainment personalities who attended Historic Black Colleges.
The evening’s not-for-profit beneficiaries are the New York State NAACP Youth Programs , New York Road Runners “Mighty Milers” Children’s Health Program and The Manhattan School of Music Youth Summer Camp.
