Actually, among the major prizes, the Critics Choice Awards have often had the best record of predicting the Oscars. And what kind of game are you playing? The Lopezes wrote the songs for it; of course, ''Frozen'' is their movie. By your line of reasoning, ''Oklahoma!'' isn't Rodgers & Hammerstein's musical; it's just a show for which they wrote the songs? ''I'm not saying the movie isn't wonderful.'' Actually, I think you are. You seem set on diminishing its achievements and the Lopezes' work. Hey, if ''Frozen'' leaves you cold, that's your opinion and you're welcome to it. But if ''Frozen'' should win just about every ''Best Animated Film'' award, it will be because the majority of voters in that organization perceived it to be the best of the year's selections. That's how awards work. You compare it to what else is competing now; it's not competing with 1991's ''Beauty and the Beast.'' And if ''Frozen'' lost just about every Animated Film award, I'd bet that you'd point out that's proof that ''Frozen'' isn't really that good. Winning an Oscar is winning an Oscar, and no matter what season or what the competition is, it's always an honor.
