...although he certainly didn't have the post-Idol career that Underwood did and is nowhere near as big a name.

I suppose they could, alternatively, hire a musical theatre performer for Peter and then actually go for big name stars (much bigger than Christian Borle) for Hook and some of the smaller adult roles. One of those "and introducing xxxyz as Peter" moves.

Casting aside, I'm actually more curious about how they'll successfully stage this on a soundstage. Beyond the casting, the biggest disappointment of the SOM for me was that a soundstage setting completely sucked the life out of everything -- it looked and felt so stilted and daytime soap opera'y. I do wonder how they're going to stage flying scenes in 2014 on a soundstage, presumably without post-production and CGI and not make it look amateurish. I'm sure they've already started working on that.
