Chicago based jazz singer?

His style of singing was anything but someone from Chicago in that era. I found his singing voice shrill and totally unsuitable for the role. His acting is fine. This season of Downton is enjoyable but uneven. I bemoaned having 3 major characters exit the show. I guess time will tell how the show survives or not.
