Could the play be...

"Indian Ink", a Tom Stoppard play from the 90's that never made it to NYC?

Jean Stapleton did the American premiere at ACT in San Francisco. Felicity Kendall did the play in London.

It's on Roundabout's schedule for next season.

I'm guessing it will be The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Nightime.

There's not a great part for her in it, and the complexity/mountainous of the play is really for the guy who plays the kid.

Noises Off is a good guess, or a play that has not yet been announced.

Would Glenn really take a role last played by Patti? I mean, again?

I haven't seen the play, I've only read the book. But is there a role for her? She's too old to play the mother of a 15 year old. Would she play the old lady neighbor?

Possibly the teacher? Just a guess on mine part. She said it was a part that hit close to home and I know her sister suffers from mental illness.

ACT has announced that they are co-producing it and will also be presenting it in SF. I'm looking forward to seeing it here in any event. If it stars Glenn Close, I'll be at the front of the line.

I don't believe the article actually said Broadway.

The "it" you are referring to is a wire piece based on what she said. The writer knew nothing more than you and I do, and the reference to Broadway is the writers-not something even in a source as unreliable as a press release.

Based on what she says, however, it does not sound like a non-profit production.
