there was nothing inarticulate about it at all. it is a point thats easy to miss even looking at the chart. in fact it caught my eye that CINDERELLA wasn't doing as well as i felt it should be doing. you made me realize it's doing better than it looks like.

i don't think CINDERELLA falls into this category at all but the wrong theater can do real damage to a production.

the st james - a theater i love - seems to get stuck frequently with things that make it feel cavernous.

i wish AFTER MIDNIGHT was doing the kind of business it deserves.

Hindsight is always 20/20. Getting the right size theatre is a combination of luck (that the right size is available when you are ready) and guesswork (where will you hit the sweet spot between revenue and demand). As Dramedy is fond of pointing out, the premium ticket overlay can mess with this mightily.

I also think it's easy to look for a scapegoat when you don't like a show's fortunes.
