I'm not sure I'd say attendance was down. The show was just about sold out. And as I recall, Wonderful Town was pretty full, too.

The Moss seats about 350, which is considerably fewer than the Alex. I'm not sure how many tickets MTG usually sells in Glendale, but I wouldn't be surprised if their average there is in the same ballpark.

I think I liked the show a little more than you. Callaway was in especially fine voice, and the supporting performances were uniformly strong. The book seemed to fall apart in the last five minutes (an issue that may have been helped at least a little by some special effects or staging magic that extends beyond the scope of a staged reading), but I thought the overall presentation of the material was very assured and polished.

I do wish the sound system were a little less echoey, though I do think it's better than the sound at the Alex.
