| That's crazy. I'm not a big fan of the Golden Gate, but the Curran is a wonderful theater. I can't imagine why they wouldn't use it for an entire season. (And as for the umpteenth return of Phantom: feh.) | |

| The shows coming in are too big for the Curran. They all have large sets or large casts that simply wouldn't work in the Curran. I like the Curran best, too, but unless the show is designed for that space (Wicked, Beautiful), many of the big Broadway shows just won't fit there. | |

| Hmmm... The Curran housed Phantom for five years, as well as several visits from Les Miserables. It's hard for me to believe that they couldn't fit any of the upcoming shows in that theater. As far as capacity goes, it's bigger than all but five of the Broadway houses. | |

| Some of it has to do with fly space - have you seen Newsies? Big, high stage. Some of it has to do with space in the wings. Kinky Boots has a big set piece that I think has to go in the wings, and Motown has a HUGE cast that does lots of quick changes and there's just no room in the wings for that at the Curran. And the Phantom that's coming is a new production, which must be larger than what they had before. | |

| Plus it is in a slightly better neighborhood than the other two SHN houses, and with many more restaurant and shopping options making a fun experience particularly for out-of-towners. And when both the Curran and ACT have curtains that night, there is a great buzz and vibe along that block of Geary. | |

| Well semi-precious since it is Sunday night and there isn't a huge selection. I was hoping the fifth show was b&c. I wonder what theater it would go in. Berkeley rep thrust would be great | |

| From what I've read, that should be a good space for it. Guess I'll have to get up there to see it - when it comes to San Diego it won't be with Michael Urie. Bill, in SD | |

| You'll be much happier seeing it at the intimate Barrow Street rather than one of the giant barns that typically house touring shows. And since SHN holds the monopoly on tours in SF and they don't have a small theater, the Curran would be the best you could hope for. | |
