Some of it has to do with fly space - have you seen Newsies? Big, high stage. Some of it has to do with space in the wings. Kinky Boots has a big set piece that I think has to go in the wings, and Motown has a HUGE cast that does lots of quick changes and there's just no room in the wings for that at the Curran. And the Phantom that's coming is a new production, which must be larger than what they had before.
