Matthew Murray takes a look at Antony and Cleopatra:

Who cares about the setting when the soul is what's at stake? For his new production of Antony and Cleopatra at The Public Theater, produced in conjunction with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Tarell Alvin McCraney has crossed a sea or two (and several thousand miles) to reconsider William Shakespeare's tale of romance and revolt within a warmer, closer-to-home context. Alas, changing Rome and Egypt to Western Europe and Hispaniola doesn't mean much when the action — such as it is — may as well be enacted by participants carved from marble. . . .
