well, after all, they are the committee that makes up the rules so it's not an unreasonable thing to call them.

re the "interpretations," it is well to remember that while theatre fans might make rules based solely on logic and consistency, the committee is made up of folks whose primary interest is selling tickets so while they may not make rulings in complete anarchy, they are also going to do what they can to highlight the shows with a view to making money. It's also worth adding that, in addition to If/Then, the other principal competitor (Gents Guide) is not setting the box office on fire and its long term viability is an issue too.
