As much as consistency is never their strong suit, I think that whatever they choose with "Hedwig" they will also have to apply to "Violet". Both shows are roughly the same age, and "Hedwig" has had far more exposure nationally, internationally, and at the movies.

But speaking about this as if it's a mystery is, I think, misleading. Since the Tonys revised their rules, has there been any case of a play/musical that had a major NY production over ten years prior, featuring different director/actors, that was *not* ruled a revival? This one is really open and shut, and I don't see how If/Then or Rocky or even "Lady Day" will affect that.
