Wow...so the show was about 2 and half hours long. And that means that the creatives have added almost an hour's worth of new material to what was seen in the film. How does the new material compare to the old material? Were the kids still awake by show's end?

I have noticed that this is what Disney tends to do...take a terrific 90 minute film and bloat it to 2.5 hours with intermission by adding a bunch of new stuff that, at best, doesn't really add anything and, at worst, is pretty terrible.

And I've never understood why they feel the need. They'd be charging the same ticket price regardless of length and the fans will buy no matter what. And their target audience of kiddies can't (or shouldn't) be up that late anyway.

If I was the one in charge at Disney, I'd make my Broadway shows a tight, intermissionless 90-100 minutes with a 7pm curtain time. And that's still a late night for the youngest kids. And that would also save the time (and money) of coming with a batch of extraneous new material.
