That show was really meaningful for me and NOTHING would please me more (aside from my favorite show right now transferring-which isn't happening at the moment), than for Hedwig to somehow be deemed eligible for best score and book-I don't care whether it's deemed a new work or revival-just let the score and book have their due. ("Wig in a Box" is my favorite song from the score, but I love "Wicked Little Town" and its reprise (I rarely like reprises as much as the original version, but here I do. I also like "Origin of Love" very much.) I think it's perfectly fair to allow shows to be eligible for book and score that haven't been seen on Broadway-that's my argument. The Tonys are strictly Broadway, so, I guess I see it as a question of fairness (it's not an unfair advantage at all). I'm guessing it'll be eligible for book since they've changed that quite a bit. But the score is amazing-and deserves some recognition.
