It has a lovely score, and I play several numbers from the OCR CD once in a while. If I recall, the wonderful title song was filmed in a partly slow-motion way that kind of messes up its impact in the film version. Otherwise, I saw it some years ago on television, and liked it very much. Steele when not pushing it too much could be quite charming. I believe I read somewhere that P.L. Travers actually would have open to having him play Bert in "Mary Poppins".

Do you know that Joel Grey was either Steele's understudy or replacement on Broadway? He would have been great, too!
