The show's always been a favorite of mine, but I understand that it helps to have seen it on Broadway. My then-girlfriend and I saw it as high school seniors. I gave her a sixpence soon after. I respect coins too much to cut one. She gave it back when we broke up in college, but I carried the matching sixpence for years on my keychain. The break-up wasn't my idea. But earlier, when she came back from a trip to London, she brought the British cast album. It's charming, but the show's slightly different, heavier on singing and the location -- I think -- is Romney, not Folkston. Two songs I still know parts of but haven't heard in years were "The Oak and the Ash" and "The One Who Got Away." I think those are the titles, and I think the latter's on YouTube. Also, I just noticed that John Cleese is listed in the Broadway opening night credits.
