Well, if nothing else, they've added some cut songs from the film and written a few new songs by Menken and Chad Beguelin (who also wrote the book). The storyline has changed to introduce characters and elements that were intended for the film but cut along the way (Aladdin's mother, and his friends Babkak, Omar and Kassim).
