You're saying that people don't choose the cheaper show when making a decision between two shows (or, at least, that price isn't the only factor). That could very well be true. But there's another possibility, and that's that there are people who would like to see Rocky, but don't want to pay the full price. These hypothetical people would be willing to buy tickets at a lower price point.

Whether or not such a gimmick would work is a completely different question, of course. But I have to believe that just about everyone has a show that they would be more interested in seeing if the ticket price were lower.
