Is "Allegro" one of the more wrong-headed titles like "Goldilocks"?

Posted by: PlayWiz 01:11 am EDT 03/12/14

I don't know if it would have been more successful with some other title like "My Path in Life" (yech!) or "The Story of My Life" (double yech, also applies that real musical done years later), but other than a few up-tempos including the title number, "Allegro" doesn't really seem to be allegro (fast-paced, lively).

"Goldilocks" which was about the making of a silent film and the battles between a star and her director/producer with a delightful set of secondary characters, had nothing to do with the fairy tale but one scene with a dancing bear and a reference to Goldilocks and the bears during one of the numbers. I think in this case it was definitely the wrong title for this show.
