"I’m surprised" Riedel writes, "it’s taken this long for someone to figure out that the 1990 megahit could be a musical." Even more surprising is the fact that Riedel gave us this news - 13 years ago! October 19, 2001 "Pretty Woman – the 1990 movie that made Julia Roberts a star – is going to be turned into a Broadway musical. "Gary Marshall, who directed the movie, will also direct and write the stage adaptation."
