Elvis Stojko's Opening Night curtain call in Broadway's Tony Award-winning musical smash CHICAGO. Stojko makes his Broadway debut as Billy Flynn on Monday, March 17.

On Monday, March 17, the company of Broadway's Tony Award-winning, record-breaking smash hit musical CHICAGO will welcome two-time Olympic silver medalist and three-time world champion figure skater Elvis Stojko in his Broadway stage debut.

Stojko will assume the role of "that silver-tongued Prince of the Courtroom," slick criminal lawyer Billy Flynn, for eight performances only through Sunday, March 23 at Broadway's Ambassador Theatre (219 W. 49th St.).

At the conclusion of this Broadway engagement, Stojko will join the company of CHICAGO's North American tour for its Toronto engagement, March 26-30 at the Prince of Wales Theatre.

"People think of me as only a skater," said Stojko. "But what they don't know is that I love musicals. Now I finally have the chance to play a great role in one of the greatest musicals of all times. I'm very excited."

Since the early '90s, Stojko has competed in four Olympics, winning silver medals in 1994 and 1998. He also won three world championships in 1994, 1995 and 1997. He is a seven-time Canadian champion and was awarded the recognition of Canadian Athlete of the Year in 1994.

On television, he guest starred as himself on episodes of "The Simpsons" and the Canadian animated series "Chilly Beach." His film credits include Ice Angel and choreographing and performing the skating sequences in the 2002 Robin Williams' film Death to Smoochy. In 2010 he released his debut CD 100 Lifetimes.

CHICAGO also stars Anne Horak as Roxie Hart, Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, two-time Tony Award nominee Christopher Fitzgerald as Amos Hart and Roz Ryan as Matron "Mama" Morton.
