''Mothers and Sons'' is a new play by Terrence McNally, starring Tyne Daly, and that's more than enough reason to see it, but I'm really eager to catch Bobby Steggert. Show after show, he shines: ''110 in the Shade,'' ''Yank!,'' ''Ragtime,'' ''Big Fish,'' etc. (I wish ''Yank!'' had made it to Broadway; that was such a Tony-worthy tour de force.)

A few weeks ago, Steggert penned a beautiful piece for the Huffington Post, about being an openly gay actor and why ''Mothers and Sons'' means so much to him. (For those who haven't seen the play, it might have spoilers.) Enjoy!
