These kinds of songs are most always my favorite in the show. I think they might come under the category of "charm song" a term coined by Lehman Engel, founder of the BMI musical theatre workshop. The link below has a discussion of this kind of song you might find of interest. Starts on the front page, but the real discussion on charm songs begins on the middle of page 15.
