AEA Showcase. Looking for a fresh start, a veteran and recovering alcoholic, Jim, moves his wife and two sons from New York City to a small cottage in the woods. As they each struggle to overcome their past and present, secrets are revealed, leaving their future in question. With the road ahead unclear and everyone desperate to find their place, Hounds of War incites us to explore the conflicts within ourselves. Mark Cirnigliaro (director) has been working as a professional actor, director and coach for the last 13 years in New York City and the surrounding area. As an actor he studied with the famed William Esper at William Epser Studios. Mark has appeared in “One Life to Live,” “As the World Turns,” “Guiding Light,” “All My Children” and “30 Rock” as well as the independent features “The Project,” “Absolute Trust,” “Loveless” and “Wildlike.” Mark has won the Samuel French Competition twice with The King and The Condemned (Actor) and Mountain Song (Director). He was nominated for Best Director at the Wonderland One-Act Festival and was the only male director with an official selection at Eve Ensler's V-Day UTVS Film Festival. In addition Mark has mounted the first scholastic productions of Annie Baker's The Aliens and Rajiv Joseph’s Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo. Mark continues to have relationships with the McCarter Theatre Center and Mile Square Theatre and is currently an adjunct professor of basic acting at NCC. He graduated Rutgers University's Mason Gross School of the Arts with his MFA in Directing, earning the Dean John I Bettenbender Award for Artistic Excellence. Bill Holland (playwright) is from Long Island, NY. New York credits include: Matador (Pulse Ensemble Theatre), And Young Men Die (Pulse Ensemble Theatre), Michael and the Wee Man (Theatre Row - Studio Theatre), Nellie (Manhattan Rep), and Mama's Boys (Pulse Ensemble Theatre - Roy Arias Studio). Bill is a proud member of the Pulse Ensemble Theatre writers lab. He is also a Veteran of the Korean War. Hounds of War is presented by Wee Man Productions. Visit us at www.weemanproductions.com The Cast Christopher LaPanta (Jim) is a native of Duluth, Minnesota. He began his acting career in 2005, moving to New York to train at the prestigious William Esper Studio. Since graduating from The Esper Studio, Christopher has appeared in over 30 films, most recently starring in the indie short “Quinny” as a former boxer turned trainer/promoter. His television appearances include “Believe,” “The Blacklist,” “The Following,” “Law & Order,” “Fringe” and “Rescue Me.” Christopher is a proud member of SAG/AFTRA. Margaret Curry* (Mary) works in theatre, film and television, industrials, commercials, and as a professional singer. Among her favorite onstage roles: two Equity Tours playing Karin in the musical comedy Church Basement Ladies; over 250 performances as Titania in the Off-Broadway musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream: Fools in Love (MET & BAM’s Harvey Theatre); Auntie Dote in the dark, musical satire Fascist Living (The Flea); originating the role of Professor Rosenstern in the raucous re-imagining of Shakespeare’s Hamlet: Elsinore County (Cherry Lane); and Vivienne & Doll in Metropolitan Opera’s (Wings Theatre). Favorite film and television credits include Maryanne in the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival short selection The Roofer, Irene Cuttler in the German made-for-television movie “The Trouble” with David, and playing Attorney Andrews in the upcoming feature film “Diamond Ruff” (starring Fredro Starr, Felicia Pearson, and Michael Colyar). You’ve seen her in various commercials such as Carnival Cruises, Verizon Wireless, and Spike TV. She received a BA in Communications from Trinity University and completed programs at The Actor’s Space, Circle in the Square, and The Cabaret Conference at Yale. www.margaretcurry.com Tony Head (Henry) comes to the New York stage following his recurring role as Major Bobby Reed on the acclaimed HBO series “The Wire.” He has appeared in HBO’s “The Corner” and played feature roles in major films including “Thunderheart” starring Val Kilmer and “Head of State” starring Chris Rock. Mr. Head has also been featured in numerous network commercials including Visa, Nuprin, and AT&T. He has performed in a range of theater productions including ATA’s Leather Heart as the role of Stan, and After the Rain as the lead character Peter. Justin Hofstad (Larry) is a recent graduate of the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutger's University with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree in acting. There he played Gerry Evans in Dancing at Lughnasa, Kev in Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, and many other roles. His most recent role was Sebastian in Shakespeare's Twelfth Night with Mile Square Theatre. Patrick Massey (Robert) is a graduate of the master’s opera program of The Boston Conservatory, and keeps his hands in many artistic genres. Notable past roles include the title role in Candide, Charlie Darlymple in Brigadoon, Camille in The Merry Widow, Brit Craig in Parade, and Jack in Into the Woods. Patrick has worked with companies such as Boston’s Guerilla Opera, Boston Actors’ Theater, Longwood Opera, Prather Entertainment, Juventas New Music Ensemble, and several others. Patrick is also embarking upon new territory with his brother starting a new country/bluegrass band Shubert Alley bringing back some of their southern roots to the big city. | |
