I went last night and LOVED it. I still love the music and the show. The story continues to draw me in and I really love it.

I loved the understudy, actually, and thought he was very good indeed. (He got tons of applause for his big numbers-quite warranted as his voice and delivery were amazing.)

I thought Will Swenson was very good as Javert, and loved the rest of the cast, with the exception of Caissie Levy. She just talk sang the role too much for my taste and I didn't feel her emoting a great deal.

It's really a lovely production of the show that started it all for me.

Still love it...

Curious to know the name of the understudy. I saw the show in Toronto in January and also saw the understudy. I can't remember his name (am at work).

Thanks, I see I did not read the entire thread. Yes, I saw Walpole do the role in Toronto. His performance was good, best part was a killer version of "Bring Him Home", everyone around me was in tears and that included me.

I may be wrong but I read Ramin was skipping some Wednesdays and then he regular time out would be Thursday evening.

Caissie Levy is a mystery to me. I've seen her perform a few times and never caught her in the act of emoting. Powerful voice, sure, but I would be so much happier if she was a storyteller in any way.

Her voice sure wasn't powerful last night.

And I've had the great honor of seeing three of the strongest Fantines both in acting and singing, so it's hard for me to be objective. (I saw the show 4x but the other Fantine I saw was forgettable.)
