Different strokes...if Cavenaugh was going to be that bland and give that dull a performance, they really needed to get him out of his shirt more. And a shirtless Cavenaugh WAS the show's big marketing hook, after all.

I actually like Matt Cavenaugh and thought he was terrific in GREY GARDENS and A CATERED AFFAIR, but he was sort of a black hole at the center of URBAN COWBOY.

Actually, Jenn Colella was very good in the female lead and I think that was the first time I saw her. I kept wondering what she saw in Cavenaugh's character...she could have done so much better.

Oh, and, upon reflection, it's always great to see Sally Mayes and she had one good number.

But the presence of JRB conducting the band was the most entertaining and lasting part of the whole experience.
