Not a good musical at all but the tourists will eat this up... especially families!

The Rocky movie franchise died, of old age and overexposure, in 1990. Are millions of small children in 2014 going to be begging their parents to be taken to see Rocky the Musical? Maybe, but somehow, I'm not seeing it.

Meanwhile, are people my age (I was in my mid-twenties when the first Rocky movie came out) going to be beating down the box office doors for tickets to the musical? Again, somehow I'm not seeing it. Just because a movie has a famous and familiar title doesn't necessarily mean that anyone is dying to see it as a Broadway musical--as Ghost, Rebecca, and for that matter The Bridges of Madison County, have recently pointed out, again.
