Christopher Sieber

Posted by: mlop 01:07 pm EDT 03/14/14

Christopher Sieber broke his hand rehearsing for MATILDA and he going in has been delayed. Craig Bieko sustained a shoulder injury in his rehearsal.

Sounds like this is the new injury show replacing SPIDERMAN.

Speedy recovery to Chris, he will be great ... saw him in PIPPIN and HAIRSPRAY at the Papermill as well as in LA CAGE and SHREK. etc.

Having never seen the show, is that role really physically demanding? Or is it just coincidental that these two actors both sustained injuries in rehearsal.

From what I recall, there are a few physically demanding points, including a run & jump that leads into a somersault. I would have to guess people are getting injured trying out that one.

I believe that the first replacement in London sustained injuries and had to bow out as well.

Must be the role.

When did he break his hand? I saw him in Pippin a few weeks ago and noticed a cast on his hand. Is this a new injury?

Thought he was great in Pippin!

What role did he play in PIPPIN? At Paper Mill or Broadway?

Thank you. I guess that makes sense. My how time flies. I still remember him when he was the young father to the Olsen twins. ;-)

On Broadway, as Charlemagne, with a cast on his hand. I'm wondering if the injury occurred in Matilda rehearsals a few weeks ago and they just don't want him to open while he's still in a cast.

Either way, hope he recovers soon.

His show at 54 Below was all about how in every show he appeared in he suffered a very painful insury..and he described the Tony Awards show as especially embarassing!
