| Director Michael Greif made a little curtain speech from the floor of the orchestra at 'IF/THEN' this afternoon, stating that a new opening had just been inserted into the show last night, with new orchestrations. I don't think it was entirely new. Just some of the lyrics, maybe? (But then why new orchestrations for it?) Anyway, he explained that Idina Menzel would be carrying some note cards for that number as she hadn't had time to learn all of the lyrics, and she'd rather try to "act" them than struggle to remember them. So he asked for our indulgence, and the audience was quick to give it with their kind applause. This is the first show I've seen all season that had a "buzz" in the air the minute I entered the theatre. A HIT "buzz" of excitement. As for the show itself: Was the cast terrific? Yeah. Was Idina sensational? Yeah! Was I confused by the plots? Yeah. Did I like the score a lot? Yeah! Did the audience go WILD at the show's conclusion? Oh, yeah. Is it gonna win a lotta Tony Awards this year. ... Yes. I even bought the magnet. | |

| The 'IF/THEN' magnet costs $10 (tax included) in the lobby of the theatre. I've found that most show magnets (if you can find them) now sell in the shops around Times Square for $12.95 PLUS tax, which brings the total to over $14. For a magnet. This one actually IS special. It's the show's logo featuring artwork that shows Idina walking into a park where two paths - peopled by two different sets of people - go in different directions. So if you tilt the magnet back, you only see the people down the left path. And if you tilt the magnet forward you only see the people down the path to the right. COOL, huh? | |

| You know, I really didn't pay any attention to the $25 phone case, as my friendly neighborhood Verizon store (in Fort Lauderdale) recently sold me a simple black case for my recently purchased I-Phone. Yeah, and it looks like it cost somebody (overseas, no doubt) 50-cents to make it. But they sold it to me for $49. So I'm all set. | |

| Idina is spectacular, and this role has really been tailored to all of her strengths. I won't be surprised if her name is called at the Tonys. Likewise, James Snyder--who blew me away a few years back in FANNY at Encores, and who I've been hoping ever since would land a musical role worthy of his immense talent--is giving a superb performance, likely to be recognized with a Tony nomination. His solo ("Hey Kid") got the second biggest hand of the performance, after Idina's 11-o'clock number (not the best song, but she sells it so well the audience can't help but lose their minds). Honestly, I've never heard Idina sound better, or seen her act better. This is the role she was born to play. The cast of Broadway veterans is great down the line, from Jerry Dixon to Anthony Rapp to LaChanze, who I can't believe is in her fifties. (She looks and sounds at least two decades younger than her actual age). The ensemble is solid. The show drags in places, but overall I left very happy. Most of all, though, Idina Menzel is giving a performance that is not to be missed. And a star is born in James Snyder. Go for them, if nothing else. | |

| A decent iPhone case will set you back at least $25 anyway so at least here you get a case with If/Then deco. That said if it's a cheap case then no it's not worth it. But the price alone doesn't make this a poor choice. | |

| I've always been curious about people's interest in buying things like this. No matter how much I love a show, I doubt very much I'd want to have the logo of the show on my cell phone all the time, or anything I'm wearing really. I'm glad people buy it, cause it's revenue, but I've never understood it really. | |
