Posted by: Official_Press_Release 07:37 pm EDT 03/16/14

The Boomerang Theatre Company (Tim Errickson, Artistic Director; Sue Abbott, Managing Director) will present their annual ROCK-N-ROLES new play event on Saturday April 5th at 8pm. Six new short plays inspired by great rock songs will be presented, along with live musicians. The event will take place at TheatreLab, 357 W 36th Street in New York City. Proceeds support Boomerang’s new play development programs. Check out www.boomerangtheatre.org for more information.

Boomerang’s ROCK-N-ROLES matches playwrights, actors and directors with classic rock songs chosen at random. The playwrights use the music as inspiration for a new 10 minute play. This marks Boomerang’s fifth ROCK-N-ROLES event, with previous editions showcasing plays inspired by Meatloaf’s “Paradise by the Dashboard Light”, Springsteen’s “Thunder Road”, Aerosmith’s “Dude Looks like a Lady”, The Beatles “Norwegian Wood” and Elton John’s “Rocketman” among others.

The playwrights in this “album” of ROCK-N-ROLES include Mike Aguirre, Philip Emeott, Susan Ferrara, Larry Kunofsky, Shelley McPherson, and Mateo Moreno.

ROCK N-ROLES will be held one night only, Saturday April 5ht at 8pm at TheatreLab, 357 W 36th Street (3rd floor). Tickets are $15 and available at the event only.

ROCK-N-ROLES is hosted by Boomerang Artistic Director Tim Errickson, Managing Director Sue Abbott and Board Member Michael Champness.

All proceeds benefit Boomerang’s new play programs including the annual FIRST FLIGHT New Play festival. Boomerang’s 2014 season will be announced shortly.
