Vehemently disagree. "It All Fades Away" and "Always Better", the last two numbers of the show, allow the two characters to reflect on what happened and how those few days together affected the rest of their journey. Both of these songs add gravity to what happened before. If it the show had ended before these moments, I would have found it lacking.
Also, "It All Fades Away" is my favorite musical theater song written for a man in quite some time.
