I saw the Goodman production about 20 years ago with Ken Page, David Garrison, Kurt Deutsch, and Sherie Rene Scott. I enjoyed it. I liked the score as performed in the show -- I recall Glory Train being particularly rousing and Gainesville being a beautiful ballad. The studio cast recording is very disappointing with all the numbers being performed in a non-theatrical way by Newman and other pop singers.

Nevertheless, I wouldn't consider a 1-night only concert performance of Faust a must-see. $110 is too much IMO. I would gamble on discounted tickets being available as the event draws nearer.
