Who else is tired of The Skivvies' gimmick?

They are wonderful musicians but the underwear performances are started to feel forced (and distracting).

I know nothing about The Skivvies. I do know that someone at playbill.com is obsessed with them, based on the number of photo spreads they get on the site. Every concert they perform follows with 100 photos. No offense to the members of the group, but who cares? This is theatre?

It's far more appropriate to report on, given the people involved and the venue at which they perform than a great deal of other things that Playbill deems newsworthy. Here are some recent Playbill headlines:

"American Horror Story" Taps Carnival Theme in Fourth Season

"In My Dreams," Starring Katharine McPhee and Directed by Kenny Leon, Will Air on ABC in April

Chris Colfer Will Write an Upcoming Episode of Fox's "Glee"

Kevin Spacey, Adam Rapp, Ron Howard and More to Participate in Tribeca Film Festival's "Tribeca Talks"

Look Who's Talking: Guests Announced for "The View," "The Talk," "Jimmy Kimmel," "Seth Meyers," "Kelly and Michael"

CBS Network Announces Renewals for 18 Primetime Shows

Joe Manganiello's "La Bare" Film, About Male Strip Club La Bare Dallas, Sets Release Date

I mean, if Playbill wants to occasionally stop reporting on TV and movie news and write something about a cabaret project involving theater people in a venue in the theater district, I'm OK with that.

I'm even more tired with Playbill

In an attempt to learn what the Skivvies are, I found yet another Playbill article broken up into a ridiculous number of screens - ninety-one in this case.

I presume that Playbill wants to inflate how many "hits" its site receives, in order to impress and attract advertisers. But is anyone seriously fooled by this?

As with NAKED BOYS SINGING, taking off one's clothes gets barely average performers a lot of attention, none of which they would receive on the basis of their talents.

In this case, it gets two very talented singers and musicians primarily (un)known more as character actors seen as attractive leads with tons of press they would not otherwise receive for late night shows in a small venue. I would agree that the theater websites level of coverage is more what people object to than the duo themselves, who present thoughtful arrangements and sound great every time I've seen them while maintaining a sense of humor about themselves.

I enjoy them but I admit that I think it's unnecessary to see them numerous times. I do enjoy their song choices and it was fun to see Lin-Manuel Miranda, Aaron Lazar, Leslie Marguerita and others to the other night live.

I think if you see them for the first time they are very entertaining and I would still recommend them to those who haven't sampled them.
