It didn't seem to lead to any confusion here - the musical played London a decade ago, and I don't think it's had any major stagings in the UK since, and it's set in the States, whereas this is very definitely a stage adaptation of the film, set in Yorkshire (it was first staged at the Crucible in Sheffield, where the film is set, and was a big hit there). The musical, here, is more or less forgotten.
