But I'm curious how much more. Like if they lose 10% to Amazon it's much different than 40%. I want to support them, but even saving $4 per CD whether it's in price or shipping adds up very quickly, and I'm money is a concern for me.

I've never actually asked Tommy Krasker the question you are inquiring about but I do know two other guys who own prominent record labels in the soundtrack and/or cast album business. Both have told me that a sale is a sale, go for the best price you can find, the key thing is that they are moving inventory. They all realize that by using distributors like Amazon the profit is less per unit but they have to do it because Amazon's distribution reach is so great.
