When I was there a couple of weeks ago, the seat I was in was quite reasonably comfortable, and I'm often in great discomfort in theatres, especially upstairs. It really can vary from row to row.

The height of the stage really means the height of the deck being used on the show. I think that few Broadway theatres have high stages. It's the decks that can be high. When I first started seeing Broadway shows, you sometimes saw the actual stage floor, I think. Then Equity made a rule that every show must have a deck (or so I've been told).
