is Tom Wingfield usually in the Best Lead Actor category?

I know it's the male lead of that play, but size wise, and power wise, I would assume the role gets put in the Supporting Actor category. And I know in theory it's his play, but in reality it's not, it's Amanda's.

I wonder if they'll fight for him to be in Supporting so he has a better chance of winning.
