Last night, I noticed that "If I speak, I am condemned, if I stay silent, I am damned..." has been changed to "If I speak, they are condemned." I thought it was a mistake until the person I was with explained that the lyric was changed some time ago and that Valjean is now referring to his workers, who would be out of a job if he were arrested and his factory closed, and therefore "condemned" (I guess you might say) to poverty.

At least that makes some sense. But the apparent change in "On My Own" -- where Eponine used to sing "I love him /
But when the night is over / He is gone, the river's just a river / Without him the world around me changes..." but now sings "...in the darkness, the word around me changes -- makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, and is a complete contradiction of the lyrics in the first half of the song.

So either Nikki M. James just can't get that line right (according to reports, this is at least the third time she has sung it that way), or someone who doesn't understand the song at all told her to change it. I'm not sure which scenario is more unfortunate.
