I saw the workshop in LA and thought a lot of it was really good, but they had a lot of work to do too. The song you quote lyrics from was easily the worst that I remember and I was hoping they'd change it. And I also thought Flickman's direction, even more a workshop, was terrible.

And it seemed like when they were trying to be the movie and quote it, they got it all wrong, but when they went with the basic story and tone, they weren't getting a lot right. I don't know what it's like in this version or in final performance. But they did seem to waste a lot of the film's best stuff and not know how to translate it or use it, or the cast didn't quite get how to deliver it.

The film is absolutely untouchable. Just so good.
