Yeah, it's not the best choice to convey that thought, and it's not the best choice of thought to convey. He already expresses that in "I am the master of hundreds of works who all look to me, can i abandon them, how will they live, if i am not free?" Those sections are him weighing the pros and cons, the effects of his choices... but the choice MUST be an internal struggling about himself... keep his freedom and lie via silence and be damned by breaking his promise to God who set him free those years ago, or do what's right/speak the truth and give up his freedom and go back to the prison/servitude that he spent 15 years of his life doing already. It's not ABOUT the workers, they are just part of it. God... it was very good, and this change angers me so much because I don't get WHY they changed it. It is not better now, it doesn't achieve anything. It just weakens his character and the song.
