I too thought that Rivers did an excellent job here. Her humor is based in hating everyone and everything and she was able to combine her style with what is actually a pretty thoughtful essay. I could have done without the cheap shot at an actress in the BAM KING LEAR, but not only because the comment itself was mean. It's clear that Rivers is a thoughtful and extremely knowledgeable theatre-goer and the cheap shots undermine that a bit. I would love to see and hear more of THIS Joan Rivers and less of the screeching red carpet harpy that she often seems to have devolved into.
