I agree that Aladdin is the lead in Aladdin... BUT I do not agree that that means the Genie isn't also a lead. Even more, I think, than Javert... and it is a very showy part. I'm saying I think both should be eligible, and I think Jacobs wouldn't get the nom and Iglehart would. Perhaps it's savvy in terms of chance of winning to have Iglehart in featured... but especially since the Genie was really the star of the movie, I think it's very reasonable to say that Aladdin and the Genie are co-leads, despite it being Aladdin's story. (I mean, Glass Menagerie is Tom and Laura's story, but Amanda is clearly the star) And you couldn't ask for a more unquestioned lead than Valjean, and yet still another male is nominated for Lead alongside him. I know we agree on that, just reiterating.
