I like the original French lyrics for what they are. But I don't think it's really fair to argue whether they're more compelling than Kretzmer's because the intention is very different. Again, for the most part, the songs as written with the original French lyrics weren't intended to specifically relate to specific moments in the plot. Do you disagree with that?
