Every Five Minutes @ Magic

Posted by: Dr._L 04:24 pm EDT 03/28/14

I remain an unabashed fan of playwright Linda McLean and firmly believe she is one of the great female voices in today's theater.

That established, this post will include no spoilers. You may read safely.

Every Five Minutes is presently in previews. It is an emotionally powerful experience that refuses to conform to standard or expected linear exposition. Flirting with Theater of the Absurd, the play is more about impressions. The audience, in my opinion, relies on its own life experiences to discern meaning.

As Mo, Rod Gnapp gives a masterful lesson in acting. He conveys a wealth of emotions without a false note. Never leaving the stage, never leaving the character, he provides stellar work. Mr. Gnapp is worth the price of admission. He is that good.

The play is for the serious drama lover who treasures thoughtful, provocative theater.
