Different strokes for different folks, but I couldn't disagree with you more....

I LOVED the musical Heathers, seen this past weekend. Its funny, its smarter than the movie, and it incorporates all the general "quotes" without pandering to the movie.

The score is one of the strongest I've heard in a long time, though it can't compare with "Bridges of madison County"...still, the songs are pop-fun, singable, and it will sell like crazy when the album eventually comes out. The song "Seventeen" is an instant musical theater standard....

The ensemble consisting of Veronica, the Heathers, JD, and Ram and Kurt is the strongest in a musical this season -- the rest of the cast is great in the many parts they play.

I went with a group of very seasoned theater goers, and every one of us loved it. A few had seen it in LA and were able to point out changes here, but all agreed its a top notch show.

The one sole person I personally know who didn't like it was one who thinks the movie is Gods gift to the world -- she didn't like the musical, but didn't like the entire "idea" of a musical based on the movie --

Just for the record, this ISN"T a "redo the movie" on stage -- this is a musical that incorporates theming of the movie -- just like Legally Blonde is NOT the same as the movie, and I think we all saw how popular that became.

I loved the show, and I've seen every musical on Broadway this year, with the exception of the few that haven't opened yet...its as strong as any, and better than most....
