They probably haven't have had understudy rehearsals yet

I thought most shows don't have understudy rehearsals until after previews are over and the "official" run begins. My understanding is that there usually isn't time to do an understudy rehearsal until the show is on its feet. (I could be wrong, but I seem to recall reading that.)
